
The sky is still blue over Kyiv, Ukraine, even though rockets often shatter the darkness of night.
Amid years of Russian aggression and destruction, Kyiv remains one of the most beautiful and historic cities in Europe. Ukrainians have fought — and died — to preserve it’s iconic mix of golden domes and classic Soviet architecture. Not every tourist will have the courage to visit Kyiv like journalists and aid workers. But when the war ends, the city will be poised to regain its stature alongside Budapest and Istanbul as one of the great cities of the region.
