Santorini is one of those places that live up to the hype. It truly is spectacular and mesmerizing. For that reason, it’s often overwhelmed with tourists in high season. It’s better to go in October or November, when skies are clear and blue, and the buildings are a blinding white. In this heavenly Mediterranean light, the world feels incredibly old but fresh at the same time. You could spend a week or 5000 years here (as some families have).
